dc.description.abstractThe article presents modern ideas about the principles of diet therapy for atherosclerosis. Numerous studies have shown that with the help of diet therapy, it is possible to influence the development of atherosclerosis. The main directions of diet therapy are the selection of adequate energy value, the determination of the quota of protein, fats and carbohydrates in the diet, as well as other nutrients that can affect the development of atherosclerosis. Calorie restriction of the diet for overweight is the most important factor in weight loss, regardless of the macronutrient composition of the dieten_US
