Abstract: T echnology has become an inseparable part of modern education. Digital tools such as interactive whiteboards, learning management systems, educational applications, and online platforms are widely used in classrooms at all levels. Many educational institutions adopt technology with the expectation that it will automatically improve teaching quality and learning outcomes. However, research shows that technology alone does not guarantee effec- tive teaching. The key factor remains the teacher and how technology is used pedagogically. This thesis examines the role of technology in teaching with a particular focus on pedagogical foundations and teacher competence. It argues that technology should be viewed as a supportive tool that enhances teaching strategies rather than replacing tra- ditional pedagogical principles.Pedagogy refers to the methods and principles of teaching and learning. When tech- nology is introduced into education without pedagogical planning, it often results in superficial use, such as replac- ing textbooks with digital slides.
