| Abstract: | Emotional burnout syndrome is a widespread occupational problem in modern healthcare systems, particularly prevalent among medical professionals. This literature review is aimed at analyzing the epidemiological indicators of burnout among healthcare workers, its pathogenetic mechanisms, and its impact on interpersonal relationships. The results of the analysis indicate that burnout syndrome occurs in 30–60% of healthcare workers and is associated with reduced communication skills, decreased levels of empathy, and an increased risk of professional errors. Furthermore, it contributes to workplace conflicts, deterioration of patient–provider relationships, and a decline in team performance. |
