Abstract:
This study evaulates the social factors of the formation of a low level of quality of life parameters in patients with
chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The study included a screening questionnaire of patients hospitalized
in the pulmonology department of the Research Institute of Phthisiology and Pulmonology of the Ministry of Health
of the Republic of Uzbekistan. 200 patients with a diagnosis of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease were surveyed.
The average age of the patients was 53.6±0.74 years. The quality of life was determined by the Seattle Questionnaire,
which included 29 questions assessing physical condition, emotional state, professional fitness and satisfaction with
treatment. The results of the study identified criteria of social factors that determine the increased risk of low QOL
parameters in patients with COPD. A high degree of low level of physical condition for COPD patients is determined
by the following factors: gender, having a deficiency in body weight (IQ≤19), or an excess of it (IQ>30), length of
service, villagers engaged in agricultural production (collective farmers) living in poor living conditions, in families
of more than 5 people, or single, with smoking experience of more than 20-30 years, with the presence of concomitant
diseases and observed by therapists at the place of residence. These results highlight the importance of addressing
social determinants in COPD management, suggesting targeted interventions could improve patient outcomes by
mitigating these risks and enhancing overall well-being
