Abstract:
Obesity, particularly visceral obesity, is a significant risk factor in the
development of various diseases, including coronary artery disease
(CAD). Obesity increases the likelihood of metabolic abnormalities
and worsens the progression of cardiovascular diseases. Identifying
visceral obesity is more reliable than using body mass index (BMI)
and serves as a crucial factor in assessing heart disease risk.
Despite the established link between visceral obesity and CAD, there
remains insufficient data regarding the connection between visceral
fat and ischemic heart disease. One of the most accurate methods
for assessing visceral fat is Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
This study aims to identify visceral obesity in patients diagnosed
with coronary artery disease and assess the correlation between
these conditions using MRI.
