Abstract:
Objective: To identify comorbid cardiorespiratory
disorders in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary
disease and to assess exercise tolerance and quality of life.
Material and methods: 45 patients matched for age and
body mass index were observed. Patients in the main and
control groups received basic therapy for the underlying
disease in accordance with clinical protocols for diagnosis
and treatment of respiratory diseases. Results: Patients
with tumors have a severe course of the disease, dyspnea
on expiration, irreversible bronchial obstruction, emphy
sema of the respiratory tract, which is accompanied by
chronic respiratory failure. Signs of pulmonary hyperten
sion appear in patients with tumors 3 and 4.5 years after
the onset of the disease. The development of the disease
in patients with tumors is accompanied by a gradual de
crease in the parameters of physical activity tolerance and
quality of life. Conclusions: When analyzing the integral
indicators of the quality of life of patients, a reliable de
crease in the physical and an insignificant decrease in the
mental components was revealed.
