Given the high prevalence o f diabetes mellitus and the continuing increase in the number o f patients in the popula tion, as well as a significant increase in the incidence o f coro nary heart disease and cardiovascular complications in these patients, the management o f patients with cardiovascular dis eases against the background o f diabetes mellitus is an urgent problem. Such patients have a common, usually combined structure o f risk factors and have an extremely unfavorable prognosis in terms o f the development o f macro- and micro vascular complications, overall and cardiovascular mortality. One o f the modern requirements f o r the treatment o f patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus with concomitant cardiovascu lar diseases is an individual approach to the selection ofan- ti-ischemic, lipid-correcting, hypotensive and hypoglycemic drugs with the mandatory use o f non-drug interventions. |
