| dc.description.abstract | Objective: To study the distribution of comorbid conditions among epilepsy patients of different age groups and to evaluate their statistical significance. Methods: The study included 103 patients diagnosed with epilepsy. Participants were divided into two age groups: 18 44 years (n=69) and 45–59 years (n=34). Comorbid conditions were analyzed in three categories: cardiovascular diseases, endocrine disorders, and gastrointestinal disturbances. The t-test was used for statistical analysis. Results: The frequency of cardiovascular diseases was 13.0% in the younger group and 47.1% in the older group (p<0.001). Endocrine disorders were observed in 21.7% and 52.9% of patients, respectively (p<0.01), while gastrointestinal disturbances were found in 36.2% and 64.7% of cases (p<0.01). Conclusion: Older patients with epilepsy show a significantly higher frequency of all types of comorbid conditions, underscoring the need for a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach to treatment. | en_US |
