dc.description.abstract Actuality of the problem. There are no intravital planimetric and volumetric measurements of the nasal cavity in rhinology. The available data are based on anthropometric studies of skeletal remains of the human skull, which have small clinical significance. Purpose of the study. The aim of the study was a clinical and intravital teleradiogrammetric (syn.: teleroentgenography (TRG), tele-X-ray cephalograms, teleradiography) study of the contour parameters of the nasal cavity in children with narrowing of the upper jaw (maxillary deficiency). Materials and methods. Anteroposterior (AP) and profile TRG performed in 96 patients at the age of 7–12 years: 50 patients were with a normal bite and without pathology of the ENT organs (control group); and 46 children with narrowing of the upper jaw (main group). We studied angular, linear and planimetric measurements on the TRG. Results. In "pronounced" narrowing of the upper jaw, the transversal size of the nasal cavity narrows (decreases) simultaneously. With a high position of the hard palate (Gothic palate), its vertical size also decreases. Obviously, such a narrowing of the contour of the nasal cavity leads to a decrease in the dimension of the nasal cavity. Moreover, the nasal septum continues to grow independently, and deforms without fitting into its contour. Conclusions. The TRG scheme proposed by the authors allowed to identify comparative parameters in two groups of children en_US
