dc.description.abstract Purpose of the work – on the basis of a review of the available literature and Internet resources, to analyze and summarize rhinological changes caused by orthodontic treatments, of particular interest to otorhinolaryngologists. Information on the problem under consideration published in recent years in the scientific literature indicates the presence of positive objective and subjective rhinological effects – an increase in all sizes of the nasal cavity, including its volume after orthodontic treatment measures. In our opinion, this can be explained by the generality of the process of embryogenetic development, the close anatomical, topographic, constructive and functional interdependence of the nasomaxillary complex. Unfavorable conditions inevitably contribute to the mutual involvement in the pathological process not only of the nasal cavity, but also of other morphological structures adjacent to it. Therefore, integration tactics of related and specialized specialists (otolaryngologists, dentists, pediatricians, neuropsychiatrists, orthopedists, physiotherapists) are required in solving the problems of diagnostics and treatment of developmental anomalies of bone and cartilaginous structures of the midface zone. Positive rhinological changes in orthodontic expansion of the upper jaw / palate predetermine the need for close contact with otolaryngologists, orthodontists and a number of other specialists, which stimulates the search for new joint research in the diagnosis and effective treatment of deformities of the nasomaxillary complex. As a conclusion, 10 otorhinolaryngological questions awaiting their decision on this problem have been formulated. At the same time, it should be emphasized that the principles of integration tactics of otorhinolaryngologists and orthodontists have not been developed in the diagnosis and treatment of the nasal septum deformation in children accompanied by abnormal posterior positioning of the maxilla (retrognathia, retroposition). en_US
