dc.description.abstract Cardiovascular diseases (CVD), in particular coronary heart disease (CHD), remain a socially significant disease in Uzbekistan and throughout the world. Today, one of the most pressing issues in practical cardiology is the problem of predicting fatal and non-fatal complications of various CVDs, which dictates the search for promising informative biomarkers. Circulating microRNAs (miRNAs) are being discussed as potential specific biomarkers for CVD. Their diagnostic value has been explored in numerous studies on CHD, and the predictive ability of circulating miRNAs in stratifying the risk of developing CVD has also been evaluated. Various miRNAs that regulate gene expression are described as non-invasive early diagnostics of the development and progression of coronary artery disease, reflecting the stages of the pathogenesis of the disease and stably detected in the bloodstream. In this review, we present the current knowledge of miRNAs in cardiovascular diseases with a focus on CHD, and will also provide an overview of the use of circulating miRNAs as promising biomarkers and potential therapeutic targets in the field of CHD. en_US
